Lifestyle family photographer I Skagit Valley, Washington

I’m all about capturing the real, joy-filled moments of your family—outdoors, where you can move, explore, and just be yourselves. Bring your partner, your little ones, even your four-legged family members.

My family sessions are about connection. Let your kids run, play, and chase the waves—I’ll be there to document the laughter, the love, and the in-between moments that mean the most. Forget the to-do lists, let go of the chaos of the day, and simply be with your family. These are the moments you’ll want to hold onto forever.

“Cannot say enough great things about Eva and her willingness to get the best photos. We did a 7am sunrise at the beach family photos shoot with her, and it was amazing! A little chilly, but she worked fast and gave us quality images we will treasure for years to come. Super friendly and professional, we will definitely be getting more photos done with Eva in the future.” Kerry L

What time will my family session be scheduled for

All of my family sessions take place during golden hour—either at sunrise or sunset. This dreamy, soft light is what makes your photos glow with warmth and beauty, and for beach sessions especially, it's the only time I shoot to ensure you get a gallery you absolutely love. If the day is cloudy or overcast, session times may shift slightly for the best light.

I know that scheduling a session with little ones can be tricky, especially when sunset overlaps with the witching hour. A happy baby is the top priority, so here are a few tips to make it easier:

✔ Let your baby nap on the way to the session—most little ones do great for 45 minutes after a car nap.
✔ Pack PJ’s and dinner for the ride home so they can go straight to bed afterward.
✔ Consider booking in spring or fall or winter, when golden hour happens earlier than in summer.
✔ Choose a location that works for your family! I have several stunning spots that allow for early morning or late afternoon sessions if sunset isn’t ideal.

Where will my family session be

Once you book your session, I’ll send you my exclusive location guide filled with hand-picked spots I’ve scouted and used before. I’ve studied the light, the scenery, and all the little details to ensure a stress-free experience.

If you have a meaningful location in mind—maybe a favorite hiking trail, the beach where your kids play every summer, or even your own backyard—let me know! I’d love to hear your ideas. And don’t forget, your home can be one of the most beautiful location for your session.

What should I wear for my family session

The key is to feel like yourselves—just the best version of it! Comfort is important, but a little extra thought goes a long way in making your photos look timeless. Once you book your session, I offer personal styling guidance and a free access to Style and Select App to my clients.

Here are a few simple guidelines to help:

Choose light, solid colors. Earthy tones and soft neutrals complement each other beautifully, but avoid blending into the deep greens of the PNW.
Skip loud colors, bold patterns, and logos. These can be distracting and take away from the natural feel of your photos.
Mix fabrics & add layers. Textured knits, flowy dresses, cardigans, or accessories like hats and belts add depth and movement.

Bonus tip: While blue and white are classic choices for a beach session, natural tones and soft pastels photograph beautifully against the sand and sea. Trust me, you’ll love how they look!
