Fresh 48 Photographer

Skagit Valley, WA

An intimate Fresh 48 session takes place in the birth location of your choice: a hospital, a birth center or at home. I approach this session with a documentary style and capture the first moments of you and your new baby with minimum intervention. Fresh 48 is a gentle, quick and extremely meaningful kind of session that can never be replicated. I focus on the mom and baby bond. Because let’s be honest, the first days after having a baby are an absolute blur for lots of us and they are hard to relive as time goes by. This way you will have photographs to go to whenever you wish to revisit this moment.

When should I book Fresh48 session?

It’s never too early to book your Fresh48 session. You can book it as soon as you know this is something you would love to do. The session happens normally within 2 days of baby being born.

Fresh48 can be booked as an add-on to a maternity/family/newborn session or can be booked individually.

  • How should I prepare for Fresh 48 session?

You don’t have to do anything special! Hey, you just gave birth that is already the most special thing in the entire world!

Newborn baby is best in it’s own skin or simple neutral onesies. You can wear a robe your brought or keep the hospital gown, do not be afraid the embrace your magical mama body.

Your husband and children are welcome to join the session!

  • What will I receive?

I am an all inclusive photographer. I deliver all the great images in the highest resolution in an online gallery within 2 weeks. Your gallery is guaranteed to contain 30+ photographs both color and B&W.

You will be granted an access to a professional print lab where you have an option to order prints.

What else do I need to know before my Fresh 48 session?

  • It’s normal not to know when your baby will be born. Fresh 48 sessions normally happen in the AM for the best light condition, and that’s why I keep my mornings flexible as your due date is approaching.

  • Depending on where you give birth, I confirm the hospital’s policy of me visiting and taking your photos. It’s always great to double check with the nurses as we plan the time of me arriving.

  • Hospital lights are not flattering. We will turn off all the artificial lights and work close to the window in your room.

  • We can use a letter box/sign you have for your new baby, a swaddle, a hat or whatever you wish for the baby to wear.

“Eva is a WONDERFUL photographer! She captured our baby’s first day of life perfectly. My toddler also loved working with her (which is no small feat). I would definitely, definitely recommend her services.” Laney
