Lifestyle family photographer

Anacortes & Whidbey island

I live for fun family sessions outdoors! Grab your significat other, your babies, your furry babies and just enjoy quality time together while I take your photos! The goal of my family sessions is to capture your unique connection. During your session you can let your children explore, run around or jump over the waves. I encourage you to “just be with them”. Forget what happened earlier in the day or what is on your to do list. Take a deep breath and embrace your beautiful family.

“Cannot say enough great things about Eva and her willingness to get the best photos. We did a 7am sunrise at the beach family photos shoot with her, and it was amazing! A little chilly, but she worked fast and gave us quality images we will treasure for years to come. Super friendly and professional, we will definitely be getting more photos done with Eva in the future.” Kerry L

What time will my family session be?

My photo sessions happen exclusively during golden hour. Especially beach sessions do not happen any other time of the day. This way I make sure I can deliver a gallery you absolutely love. You can choose between sunrise or sunset session. In case of a cloudy or overcast day these times will shift.

I understand having pictures taken with small kids is challenging and sunset hour can also be a witching hour. Having a happy baby on a shoot is the most important! There are a couple of things you can do to help.

  1. Your baby might nap on the way to the shoot and he/she will do great for the 45 min session. Have PJ’s and dinner ready for the ride home so he/she can go straight to bed.

  2. Book your session in Spring or Fall when the golden hour happens earlier than in Summer.

  3. Choose your location wisely. You can pick from several awesome locations that are suitable for an early morning or late afternoon session if golden hour is not an option.

Where will my family session be?

Once you book your photo shoot, I will share with you my location guide. You can choose from several hand-picked locations that I have scouted and used before. I’ve studied the light and I know what to expect. This helps to keep your session stress free. If you prefer to use a location that is super special to you, let me know! I would love to hear your ideas! Don’t forget to consider your home as one of the best options!

What should I wear for my family session?

I strongly believe you should feel yourselves and comfortable. However be the best version of yourselves! There are a few simple rules to follow when choosing an outfit for your photo shoot. For more ideas head to my Blog post. I also advise all my clients on the wardrobe choices based on the season and location.

  1. Choose light solid colors. Earth tones that will compliment each other are the best. But do not blend into the PNW dark green backgrounds.

  2. Avoid loud colors, patterns or signs.

  3. Mix fabrics, add layers or accessories such a hat, cardigan, belt etc.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S TIP: I know blue and white are safe choices for a beach session but believe me when I say that natural tones, pastel colors look so pretty at such location.

It’s important to get along with your photographer! I’m a super laid-back, calm and patient person when it comes to the photo shoots. I have been photographing families for 6 years and it quickly became a passion of mine. If you want to read more about my journey, click below.
