Flight line minis I Whidbey island, WA

I switched the jets for bigger planes to photograph, but the “top gun vibe” stays! As soon as we moved to Washington, I had the honor to photograph all the ladies and their pilot husbands at the flight line of Whidbey island. This time we met at very relaxed settings, no homecoming emotions (my favorite btw.) and snapped gorgeous photos lit by warm fall sun!

Did you know that the flight line could serve as your next family photos location?

All you need is a husband who is a pilot and who will make the arrangements for us.

What to wear for your flight line photo session? I NAS Whidbey island

The good news is, it’s not tricky to get the outfits right for such a session! You can go 2 directions:

  1. Be patriotic. I can barely imagine any more “American-kind-of-session”. The chances that there will be USA flag in the background are very high. Pick white, red or blue outfit that will go with the vibe!

  2. Or complement your pilot’s uniform colors! So much goes with the pilot’s green! Fall, earth, cream tones will look great. Don’t be afraid to break it up with a pattern on your dress too.

  3. Kids in theme clothes are the best! I love seeing kids in their own pilots’ uniforms with call signs and other accessories.

  4. Don’t forget it can be really windy on the flight line. Short flowy dresses might be all over the place :) .
