My session flow

Ok, you booked your session but what about now?

Even before the day of the session comes, I am already here for you to discuss your wardrobe choices. Make sure you give yourself enough time to find the right one so you don’t have to run around the mall panicking the day before the session. Go ahead and read my blog post about what to wear and feel free to send me pictures of your choices as well.

The week of your session I will get in touch with updates on the weather, the meeting point, the timing and all the other details. Please arrive at least 10 minutes earlier to the location. You will need to find a parking spot, get your children ready, maybe refresh your lipstick or comb your hair. Our session is scheduled for the best light conditions.

Depending on the location, we might walk a little bit around the park and up and down the beach. I want you to feel like you are on an outdoor adventure with your children. The first shots I take, before your children warm up to me, are photos of the whole family together looking into the camera. I call these photos for grandma. :) Don’t get me wrong I love them. I know everyone needs few beautiful family portraits with cheesy smiles. Awesome for Christmas cards or presents.

After these I will split you into groups: mom and child(ren), daddy and the kids etc. By this time your children are most probably ready to run around and play. So will I encourage you to let them be kids, embrace the chaos. I have plenty of prompts, ideas and games for them to play while I capture these candid moments. It’s a lot of moving and running around and believe me at the end of the session I am sweating and I feel like I have done my work-out of the day. At the end of the shoot when your babies are “done”, I take mom and dad and take their photos only. When is the last time you had a nice picture of just the two of you? Your wedding day? I love this moment because at some point the kid(s) always run back to us and want to be at the photos too. These last moments create my favorite captures.

See, it’s simple and easy. Family photos CAN be fun and I am here for you to take all the stress away. I am super patient and relaxed and I will make sure that we have an amazing gallery before we walk away! Do you have more questions? Head to my FAQs or simply get in touch.
