When you'r solo parenting

Oh gosh, me and Mary met in the morning at the location as the forecast was showing cloudy ALL day but of course as soon as we walked to THE beach the sun comes out and we see nothing but blue skies. The light was so unflattering that we decided to meet again at sunset hour. She and the girls were so awesome and they took it as an another evening adventure.

Then, there were actually clouds in the evening which was great but it was also super windy! The beach in Back Bay National Refuge was absolutely gorgeous, there was drift woods, wild waves and nobody except two fisherman. I loved the atmosphere and so did the girls. Riley couldn’t get enough of jumping over the waves and little Lilah was just enjoy the wind in her hair and lots of sand to play with.

Their daddy was deployed while we were taking these and I am so grateful I could freeze for them the moment when mom needs to be the strongest and take care of her two babies all by herself. Solo parenting is so normal for military families but it doesn’t make it easy. It’s not fun, it’s hard and we all get stuck with every day tasks and chores. That’s why I love breaking up the routine for these mommas and just capture the bond between her and her children that they create during this challenging time!
